Although I rarely go there, I never thought Berkeley would be so different from Oakland, but I was shocked to find out that it is. When I was at school in San Francisco and I went home to Berkeley, California, it was never too far from home. I came here with a friend who was studying in Berkeley to eat well, and we did our own food tour - self-guided. Berkeley is a great place to go out alone or with friends for dinner or a night on the town, and although we were rarely there, we never thought life would have been like this in Oakland.
